Works as advertised, no issues and no adapter needed to connect to my MacBook Pro. If you have older external drives to hook up to newer computers this works like a champ.

I bought this for only one purpose – to bring a USB port to the front of my iMac. Got so tired of having to fish around the back to plug in external hard drives full of photos – it drove me crazy. So this was an inexpensive solution to the problem – works well for that – but I really didn’t need the 4 ports. The cable is just the right length to bring it a bit forward of the iMac screen and still lay flat on the desk.

I sometimes get cheap when it comes to purchasing dongles. Not anymore after having used this brand. I would no doubt go for it again. First, in terms of construction, the quality of this thing is incredible: you can feel where your money went, and be happy about it. Then there is the quality of the internals: speed rates are as advertised, you can plug cameras for streaming 4K, ssds for editing multiple streams of 4K prores raw video, mics, and everything will work just fine. The cable that is coming with this device is long enough as for you to extend it below your desk and hide all of your connections there, while having a nice neat single cable from there to your laptop. Beautiful.

Nothing much to it, it’s pretty simple but it works. Provides enough power to charge a phone etc as well even though the hub is not powered
