The tripod itself can hold up to 8.8 lb with ease, and has a two-stage design with a height range of 30 to 59″. The legs benefit from additional stability provided by a mid-level spreader, and it has a 65mm bowl for the pan/tilt head.

The fluid head of the i-605DX system offers a simple 1/4″-20 quick release plate with video pin for mounting a camera system. This plate can slide back and forth and has a spring-loaded counter balance system. The head can tilt from +90 to -60. For additional support, the rubber feet are retractable to reveal steel spikes for certain surfaces.
